Summerville’s potential move to Saudi Pro League
Al Hilal have reportedly reached an agreement with West Ham United for the transfer of winger Crysencio Summerville. The deal is understood to be valued at approximately €80million (£68.23m) in total. A medical examination is scheduled for the 24-year-old Netherlands international as he prepares for a proposed move to the Saudi Pro League club.
A long-term contract for Summerville is also prepared, awaiting the completion of final authorisations. Summerville’s departure from West Ham has been anticipated during the current transfer window, particularly following the club’s relegation to the Championship last season. Previous reports earlier this summer suggested that West Ham would likely seek around £50m to sanction the winger’s exit.
Other clubs had also shown interest in Summerville. Roma had submitted a bid worth €46million (£39.12m; $56.21m) for him earlier this month. Manchester United had enquired about his situation, and Aston Villa also expressed interest. Summerville’s contract at the London Stadium was set to run until 2029.
International and club contributions
Summerville was part of the Netherlands’ 26-man squad for the World Cup, despite making his debut in a friendly in June. He participated in four of the team’s matches, contributing two goals and two assists. However, he missed a penalty during the shootout defeat against Morocco in the round of 32.
He joined West Ham from Leeds United. Last season, he scored seven goals and provided five assists. In other transfer news for West Ham, Mateus Fernandes has already moved to Tottenham Hotspur this summer in a deal. Captain Jarrod Bowen has committed his immediate future to West Ham by signing a revised contract.
Other transfer market activities
In related transfer market discussions, West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville was previously identified as a target for Manchester United, particularly if Marcus Rashford were to leave this summer. Reports indicated that the Netherlands attacker could cost around £30m.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly preparing an offer of approximately £34m for RB Leipzig’s 21-year-old Norway winger Antonio Nusa. Manchester City have informed Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi, an 18-year-old Morocco midfielder, of their desire to integrate him directly into the first team rather than loan him back to the French club. Manchester City are also considering Paris St-Germain’s Senegal forward Ibrahim Mbaye, 18, following interest from Aston Villa and Tottenham.
Sunderland are looking to sign 19-year-old French defender Dayann Methalie from Toulouse. Everton are considering a move for Manchester City right-back Rico Lewis, with Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, and Fulham also interested in the 21-year-old Englishman. Hull City are expected to finalise a £3m move this week for 24-year-old Swedish winger Elliot Stroud from Mjallby and are also hopeful of completing the signing of Olympiacos and Greece goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, 23.
West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos is reportedly keen on a return to the Premier League, with Leeds United among the interested clubs for the Greece international. Norwich City and West Ham are interested in left-back Matt Targett, following his release by Newcastle. The defender spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough.
Sheffield United have moved ahead of Leicester City in the pursuit of Rangers and Scotland defender John Souttar. Leeds are set to be joined by Crystal Palace in the race to sign rated Southampton and Northern Ireland midfielder Shea Charles. Preston are among several clubs interested in Oxford United winger Stanley Mills. Celtic will consider offers for striker Johnny Kenny this summer, with Millwall and Bolton Wanderers both interested after the Republic of Ireland international scored six goals in 14 appearances on loan last season. Blackburn’s Nigerian international right-back Ryan Alebiosu is attracting attention from Bundesliga and Serie A clubs.
The proposed deal for Summerville with Al Hilal is scheduled for a medical ahead of the move to the Saudi Pro League club.
